Such exciting news...one of my images took first place in the Ideal Equine Online Contest for 2013. It also received a Judge's Merit award. A second image took third place in it's catagory! So COOL!!
I love horses. They inspire me with their intelligence, playfulness and their ability to communicate with us. I use my photography to capture their essence in images. Horses touch my life in a way that nothing else can. I feel their spirit in my very soul.
My goal is to tell a story through photography. The story of every horse I have ever had the honor of sharing my life with. The story of every horse I have ever photographed. The story of these noble creatures!
I use color and texture to enhance the flowing manes and rippling muscles. I use slow shutter speeds to allow us to see the nuances of movement, fast shutter speeds to stop the action. Sometimes the only way to truly see an image is through the simplicity of black & white.
Every image has a story behind it. I love to share the stories of my images because I want people to feel what I felt when creating the image.
